Your anxiety sounds and feels like:
MIND
What if something terrible happens?
I can’t trust myself. This is all my fault.
Why do I always feel scared?
I know I’m here, but I don’t actually feel present.
What is wrong with me? Why can’t I figure
this out?Did I say something weird? Does everyone
hate me? Are they all just lying?I’ll never be good enough.
I can’t trust my own judgement.
BODY
Am I having a heart attack or a panic attack?
It feels like the world is caving in on me.
My stomach is in knots. I’m nauseous.
Why am I suddenly so hot?
My body is vibrating.
I can’t catch my breath.
My body is exhausted but my mind won’t stop.
I don’t know why, but I feel terrible.
Why am I suddenly so hot?
My Approach to Anxiety Therapy
Take a pause, take a breath, you are not alone.
When our mind and body are having different experiences, we’re left feeling confused, scattered, and disconnected. Let’s fix that.
Together, we will:
Attune the mind and body. When they’re working together, we experience the feeling of groundedness, calm, and relief.
Learn about the nervous system (it’s amazing! but can be a drama queen), so we understand the mechanics of our anxiety.
How to identify what is going on in the body (why am I living in fight or flight).
Easily access tools to regulate the nervous system, like breath work, meditation, and grounding exercises.
You deserve to move through life feeling grounded, confident, and at home in yourself.
I’m an anxiety therapist for women in New York City.
Hi there, I’m happy you’re here.
Anxiety can be paralyzing, overwhelming, and all consuming. And the scariest part? It feels like it’s the voice of reason.
In your head, it can sound like a never ending spiral, endless worry, ruminating for hours, planning for every single outcome, or fear that you’ve missed something.
In your body, it can feel like shakiness, numbness, hot flashes, rapid heartbeat, sweaty palms, tightness in your chest, or your stomach in knots.
In our work together, we’ll get to the know the grounded, calm, intuitive part of you, and distinguish it from the sneaky anxious part. You will learn how to identify the feeling of anxiety in your body, understand why they’re showing up, and what to do when they do show up.
Let’s get started!
FAQ: Anxiety Therapy in NYC
-
The topic of our sessions can change week to week based on where you’re at emotionally, and what would be most helpful. Maybe we’ll talk about what happened with your family over the weekend, or categorize and prioritize your to-do list.
Therapy adapts to your needs in the moment.

Anxiety and panic can feel similar, but they’re not quite the same.
Anxiety can build gradually or stick around for an extended period of time. It can look like overthinking, worrying about what might happen, feeling on edge, or having a hard time quieting your mind. Sometimes you can still do everything you need to do, like going to school or work, but it feels like there’s a persistent sense that something is wrong—or that bad might be coming.
Panic is more intense and often shows up suddenly. A panic attack can feel like a flood of fear or a sense that something terrible is happening, and can be triggered by a real or perceived threat. Physically, it can feel like your heart racing, shortness of breath, tightness in your chest, dissociation, or fear that you’re going to die.
Both can be scary and uncomfortable, and both are your nervous system responding to, what it believes to be, a threat. The mind and body work together, but anxiety and panic can make it feel like they’re completely disconnected. In our work, we’ll learn to attune the mind and body, so you can feel relief quicker.
-
Sometimes, simply voicing the anxious voice in your mind can feel like a relief.
Other times, we need to tune into the body, and more importantly, the nervous system. In our work, you will learn breathing, grounding, and logic based exercises, so you can send your nervous system the message that it doesn’t need to be in fight or flight.
