Therapy for women.

The expectations placed on women are ever-changing and often unrealistic. Whether it’s the way we “should” look or act, there isn’t much focus on what we desire or what feels good. Let’s chat about that.

My Work

FOCUS

I focus my work on helping women navigate the landscapes of emerging adulthood. Emerging adulthood is the part of life when you go, “Wait... who am I and what am I doing? Do I even like the life I’ve built?” So basically your 20s and 30s.

This time in life can be totally confusing and daunting: managing friendships, relationships, work, family, fertility, future planning, and city life, all while trying to figure out who the heck you are.

Take a breath— you don’t have to do this alone.

APPROACH

Together, we’ll slow things down. We will get a sense of what’s going on and what isn’t working, in order to better clarify what you actually desire and what feels good.

We’ll connect with the grounded, intuitive part of you, learn to quiet the anxious, freaking-out part, loosen the grip on the idea of perfection, understand your relationship patterns, and most importantly: make choices that feel more like you.

You deserve to move through life feeling grounded, confident, and at home in yourself.

SPECIALTY

I also work with eating disorders and its many different forms including:

  • Anorexia Nervosa

  • Restrictive eating

  • Binge Eating

  • Body dysmorphia

  • Body image

  • Body image related to
    social media “standards”

  • Disconnection of the
    mind and body

  • Compulsive exercise

I understand that it’s not just about food and weight, it’s about the everything else: anxiety, perfectionism, shame, secrecy, fear, and isolation.

I get it because I’ve been there. I know how all-consuming an eating disorder can be, and I am here to tell you that there is so much waiting for you on the other side.

Molli Ben-Gal, LCSW

Hi there, I’m happy you’re here.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and I’m grateful to play a role in your journey toward greater self understanding, compassion, and effervescence.

I approach my work through both Eastern and Western philosophies of healing, guided by the belief that lasting change happens when we attend to the whole person. I am a psychodynamically and relationally trained therapist, as well as a 200-hour Certified Yoga teacher and lifelong yogi.

I lead with curiosity into how our foundational relationships shape our beliefs and emotional experiences, as well as the patterns we carry into our current relationships. I’ll admit, gaining insight can feel great for our brains, but we don’t always feel that truth in our body; it’s the difference between knowing something and truly believing it.

Insight is an important part of healing, but it isn't always enough on its own. I incorporate Somatic Experiencing, yogic philosophy and pranayama practice as tools to attune to mind, body, and spirit, as our bodies often hold important information before our minds can fully make sense of it. Lasting change happens when our minds and bodies begin to tell the same story.
